Dikshyant Gautam

Dikshyant received his undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from Purbanchal University in Biratnagar, Nepal. He then began his career as a research assistant studying the bacterium Streptomyces at the Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology in Lalitpur, Nepal.
In 2018 Dikshyant joined NIU and is working towards a PhD degree in the Swingley lab. His work focuses on chlorophyll biosynthesis in Acaryochloris marina, primarily by using comparative genomics to inform identification of novel gene families in this organism.
His leisure time involves dwelling on philosophical studies related to mind and playing soccer.
